Strictly Come Dancing gets royal approvalThe BBC's Strictly Come Dancing has been after a royal contestant for ages it seems, first approaching the Duchess of York, followed by her daughters - it seems they have found their match in Zara Phillips however, as the Telegraph reports she has agreed to star in the upcoming season. While Zara has signed an early stage agreement, a source tells the Sunday Mirror, "The Queen may have something to say about Zara appearing on a live TV show every Saturday. Many in royal circles will find it inappropriate." Strictly Come Dancing is shown opposite ITV's X Factor, a very popular singing contest. The BBC hopes that Zara's participation will help them compete in the time slot. While still in line to the throne, Zara does not hold a royal title and therefore has much more freedom then her cousins. Click here to discuss this story on the Royal Forum. |
