The X Factor 6 - Week 5 preview - Movies Week

The X Factor PR machine has been in fifth gear in the fifth week of the studio shows. And it's still John and Edward who are getting most of the publicity.

What did Gordon Brown think of the them? "I don't think they are very good," said the prime minister when he was asked.

Could David Cameron, the opposition leader, outdo Gordon? "You only need to watch a few minutes and suddenly, 40 minutes later, you're still nailed to your chair, waiting for the terrible twins to appear," he explained.

That left Nick Clegg, the LibDem leader with the task of outshining both Brown and Cameron. The problem was that he doesn't watched the show. But that didn't let him off commenting on this year's stars of The X Factor.

"I don't watch it, but anyone that annoys Simon Cowell is OK by me," he said. So John and Edward get Clegg's vote - if he was going to vote, that is.

This evening the terrible twins will be singing the Ghostbusters theme. But it's Lloyd and Jamie who will be worrying most about being in the bottom two if the bookies' odds are anything to go by.
