The X Factor final was watched by 13.2 million viewers - the most for any episode of The X Factor. This audience was 1.3 million more than the previous X Factor record of 11.9 million, achieved two weeks ago - and 1.8 million more than the audience of the first of the X Factor shows in last year's final.
11.9 million saw both the first X Factor on Saturday and the results show later in the evening.
The X Factor final was the most watched entertainment show on any TV channel in the UK since the Christmas Day edition of Only Fools and Horses in 2003.
The X Factor is regularly the number one show on any TV channel in the UK, frequently beating Coronation Street for the top spot.
