Alexandra Burke's single Hallelujah topped the UK singles chart on 21st December. The Jeff Buckley version released only as a download was number two. Another version of Hallelujah by the song's writer, Leonard Cohen, was also in the chart at number 36.
On hearing the news, Alexandra said: "It's the best feeling in the world. I'm just so happy."

Alexandra's single was also the fastest-selling download ever in Europe. It overtook the previous fastest-selling download of 82,000 in one day, by previous X Factor winner Leona Lewis's debut A Moment Like This released two years ago.
