Record X Factor audience for the final

The X Factor smashed its audience record on Saturday evening during this year's final.

An average of 11.4 million watched the first show and 11.7 watched the results show in which Leon Jackson became this year's X Factor winner.

The audiences for this year's final were more than one million higher than for last year's final in which Leona Lewis was awarded the coveted one million X Factor record contract.
