The X Factor 2 - Auditions - 3

Chenai

In the 2004 auditions law student Chenai really impressed Simon. "Wow!" said Simon before a long pause. "Wow! You're good."

Chenai was invited to boot camp but was soon sent home by Sharon - only to be invited back down to London - and then rejected again.

Despite that ordeal Chenai was back in 2005 and sang I'm Wishing On a Star for the judges. Louis interrupted her and asked why she was singing with her eyes closed before adding: "I think you're a great singer."

Simon told Chenai: "It is so rare to hear someone your age with your talent in this country. I think if anything you've got better."

Sharon agreed saying: "You've come a long way."

Chenai was through to boot camp again. They couldn't reject her a third time, could they?

Angel

One of the Angels was seriously in love with Simon. "I'm proper in love with you," she told him from a safe distance.

And as a token of her affection she brought Simon a pasty. The girls obviously had not been checking Simon's diet from any of the back-room clips.

The duo sang There You'll Be. Simon was impressed with the singing if not the pasty. "Do you know what girls? That was surprisingly good."

They were invited to boot camp. Will Simon's Angels have another chance to woo him with more food later in the year?

Richard

The X Factor went to Cardiff for the Welsh auditions.

Sharon told Richard: "I like you."

Richard replied: "A yes is what I'm looking for."

Sharon rebuked him: "Oh, don't you be so bolshy and pushy!"

Nevertheless he got and yes from Sharon and Louis and was through to boot camp.

Joanne

26-year-old Joanne looked a certain selection for the over 25s category after her soulful rendition of Fields of Gold.

Louis told her: "You've got a really good voice." Joanne was unanimously voted through to the next round.

Michelle

Simon woke up when blonde Welsh glamour model came in showing off most of her long legs.

Michelle sang I Will Always Love You for the judges.

Louis was not impressed but Sharon said: "I think she's eally really sweet. I think people will love her." And of course Simon voted her through as well.

Terri

No. Terri was not expelled from school for talking too much. But they did ask her not to come back.

"I'm the next X Factor," Terri told the judges.

"It's an adjective," Simon replied. He could have done with a bit more time at school as well.

Terri then warbled just like Christina Aguilera and won a place at boot camp.

Pamela

Pamela sang Natural Woman for the judges. Being from Dublin she had a confirmed vote from Louis. Right?

No. Louis voted no, and Pamela got through to the next round with votes from Sharon and Simon.

Moon

Welsh psychic sang Barcelona to the judges - not quite reaching the performance of Montserrat Caballé or Freddie Mercury.

"Are we gonna put you through?" Louis asked mischievously. And then: "Simon, is Moon gonna be a star?"

It was not to be. This new Moon did not shine.
