Prince William & Prince Harry work together

Prince William and Prince Harry have become joint patrons of City Salute Appeal, a new organization aimed at raising money to support the British armed forces and their families. City Salute is planning a fundraising parade for the 7th of May to thank the British troops and their families for the sacrifices they have made.

Announcing the appeal in the Evening Standard, Prince William said: "As brothers, we are delighted to be supporting the City of London in saluting all those who serve their country. As well as raising money for vital rehabilitation facilities, City Salute is an opportunity for us to celebrate the fantastic contribution made by our servicemen and women and their families."

"It is also a chance to pay tribute to the casualty evacuation and medical staff who protect and care for the wounded so brilliantly and with such tireless dedication."

The event will be held the evening of May 7th and according to City Salute, will be no ordinary military pageant. Although it is a fundraising event, there will be no admissions charge- everyone may attend and donations are welcome. All the funds raised will be split between two existing charities: Help for Heroes and Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA).

The event is being produced by LiveNation, who also worked on last year's Concert for Diana.

Earlier this week, the Daily Mail reported that Prince William and Prince Harry were planning a "glittering party for the richest men and women in Britain" to be held on May 7th, to raise money for Help for Heroes~ so far, there is no word as to whether this was just a rumor, or the dinner party will be a private event held after the parade.
