Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of New Zealand accompanied by Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh has officially unveiled the Southern Stand, a memorial in central London that commemorates the long standing friendship between New Zealand and the United Kingdom – the memorial also honours New Zealand’s war dead.
Among the 2,000 veterans, members of the British and New Zealand armed forces, New Zealand nationals and members of the public were The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William, the Duke of York, the Princess Royal and the Duke of Kent.
