Among the 2,000 veterans, members of the British and New Zealand armed forces, New Zealand nationals and members of the public were The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William, the Duke of York, the Princess Royal and the Duke of Kent.

Queen Elizabeth II accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh has officially unveiled a memorial in Hyde Park to commemorate the long relationship between New Zealand and the United Kingdom as well as to honour New Zealand’s war dead.

Her Royal Highness the Princess Anne, the Princess Royal has just returned from a two day visit to her associated units and Regiments in Afghanistan.

The Princess was accompanied by her husband, Rear Admiral Timothy Laurence.

Princess Anne, the Princess Royal will attend the 57th Edinburgh Military Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle next week.

The Queen approves new appointments for various Royal Navy commands

Queen Elizabeth II has approved the appointment of various members of the Royal Family to senior naval commands.

The Prince of Wales, who currently holds the rank of Vice-Admiral of the Royal Navy has been appointed Commodore-in-Chief of the Royal Navy in Plymouth.
