Rock Rivals - Michelle Collins compares new show to X factor

Michelle Collins has been doing the round of interviews recently, discussing her forthcoming role in ITV’s latest show, “Rock Rivals” in which she plays talent show panellist Karina Faith. Playing opposite her, as her onscreen husband Mal is Sean Gallagher, better known possibly as Coronation Street’s Paul Connor.

In an interview with the Daily Record, Michelle admitted that the show is loosely based on the X Factor, and that both Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh had some involvement in the development of Rock Rivals. However she was also quick to dismiss the idea that her character was based on any of the X factor judges, despite it being loosely based on the X factor. “We’re not mimicking characters. We’re just telling a story,” she stated.

Rock Rivals starts on Wednesday 5th March @ 9pm on ITV1
