Claim: Prince Charles made a secret pact about Princess Diana

Paul Burrell has made new claims in a new chapter in his book, A Royal Duty. Seven months after the book was originally published he decided to release more claims about the marriage of Prince Charles and Princess Diana in the paperback version.

According to Burrell, Princess Diana claimed that Prince Charles made a secret pact with the Duke of Edinburgh to be allowed to ditch her after just five years of marriage.

Diana told Burrell how she felt she had been used by the royal family solely to produce an heir to the throne and then cast her aside when her role was over.

She even said that Charles had told her during a row that he didn't love her and never had.

According to Burrell, Diana wrote a letter to the Duke of Edinburgh confronting him over the alleged remarks by Charles about the pact. Burrell believes Diana told the Duke of Edinburgh that during the row, Charles said he had his father's permission to go back to Camilla Parker Bowles if their relationship failed after five years.
