Queen's eldest grandson marries Autumn Kelly

Today, in a private ceremony at St. George's Chapel, Princess Anne's son Peter Phillips and Autumn Kelly were wed. In spite of the rain a crowd of onlookers and journalists gathered outside the chapel to watch the wedding party and their guests arrival. The bride wore an ivory satin and silk gown designed by Sassi Holford and carried a large bouquet of white roses. She also wore earrings and a necklace bought for her by Peter and a tiara borrowed from Princess Anne. Her bridesmaids, who included Peter's sisters Zara and Stephanie Phillips, wore green strapless dresses.

Three hundred guests attended today's ceremony, some 70 guests of Autumn having flown in from Canada. Many members of the Royal Family attended the event including Peter's grandparents HM Queen Elizabeth and HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and his cousins Prince Harry of Wales and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie of York. Prince William was not in attendance having flown to Kenya to attend the wedding of a friend.

After the hour long ceremony guests gathered on the chapel steps to be photographed and to see off the couple who left by horse-drawn carriage. Guests then retired to Frogmore for the reception.
