Prince Harry's friend attackedNineteen year old Trooper David Land, a member of the Blues and Royals regiment was attacked and left unconscious outside of Windsor Castle just hours before he was to receive a campaign medal alongside Prince Harry. Land intervened on a man assaulting a woman as was beaten and left unconscious just two hours before the medal ceremony Saturday morning. He was taken to a hospital and treated for facial injuries. A friend of Trooper Land's said, "He’d been out for a couple of beers to celebrate his medal, when he found a man and woman arguing. "He stepped in to try to calm things down when he saw the guy assaulting the woman. "It’s a sad reflection on modern Britain that you can spend six months dodging bullets and roadside bombs in Afghanistan, then get back home and be beaten senseless in your own country. "Harry was as gutted as anyone to hear what happened to him." Thames Valley police are still looking for the attacker. |
