Roxanne was evicted from the show on 22nd November 2003. During the show dedicated to Beatle songs she had sung Let It Be.

Roxanne's tears

On 8th November Roxanne found herself in the bottom three for the first time - and could not contain her tears.

Afterwards she said: "I was so shocked, not because I was sure I was going through, but because I hadn't prepared myself for standing up there.

"The judges had said good things about me and I had presumed I'd be okay. To be honest, I lost it, I went to pieces and I'm still in shock.

"It's made me realise that I have to accept that I could be going on Saturday. That's hard because I'm enjoying myself so much, I really don't want to go. Now, I'm living the life of a star in this huge mansion and I'm on telly every week. I don't want it to end."

Roxanne through to final twelve

Roxanne Cooper won a place in the final twelve by coming second in the show on 27th September with 23.5% of the viewers' votes.

She sang I Am Beautiful on the show.

Foxy told her: "You sang it very simply and I think you sang it very well.

Nicki said: "I think you've got a great voice."

Pete said: "I think you did that rather well. Excellent."

Simon added: "I disagree with Pete. I thought that was sensational. You are what this competition is all about."

Roxanne's birthday

On 6th November Roxanne celebrated her 17th birthday. In the same week she met Elton John who visited the remaining eight contestants while they were rehearsing.

In the show Roxanne sang Elton's song, Sorry Seems To Be the Hardest Word.

Simon told her: "If you carry on doing what you did tonight for the rest of the competition, you could win this!"

Roxanne Takes My Breath Away

Roxanne had moved into the Pop Idol House in the week before the show on 1st November, taking her collection of teddies along with her. She had also allowed a cameraman into the bathroom as she relaxed in a jacuzzi.

In the show she sang Take My Breath Away.

Afterwards, Simon looked at Roxanne sternly and said: "Roxanne."

Roxanne replied: "Hello Simon".

Simon continued: "You were in a different league to all the others tonight. There's a future pop star in the making."

Roxanne is the early favourite

Roxanne was the early favourite with the bookies with odds of 5/1 on 22nd October.
