Liberty X’s Michelle Heaton and singer Andy Scott-Lee were married yesterday.

The 26-year-old bride wore an oyster-coloured gown draped in pearls and some serious bling from jeweller-to-the-stars Stephen Webster. The groom, also 26, wore a white morning suit and gold waistcoat. They both cried as they exchanged their vows.

Pop Idol will be returning to ITV1 soon, with a documentary on Gareth Gates, who was runner up in 2002, to Will Young in Pop Idol’s first series.

Gareth Gates, now aged 22, had a no 1 debut single with Unchained Melody. Other hits followed including covers of "Spirit in the Sky" and The Beatles "The Long and Winding Road," a duet he sang with former rival Young. Other hits included "Anyone of Us (Stupid Mistake)", "Sunshine" and "What My Heart Wants to Say."

Pop Idol could be returning to the screens soon.

According to the Sun, Simon Fuller and Freemantle Media are currently taking bids on the format and Channel Five and Sky could be battling with ITV for the opportunity to re launch the programme.

In an interview Princes William and Harry have revealed that they enjoy watching Pop Idol and The X Factor. The interview which was carried out by TV stars Ant and Dec to mark the 30th anniversary of The Princes Trust will be aired on ITV1 tomorrow.

With a Little Bit of Help From My Friends

Sam and Mark topped the singles chart on 15th February 2004 with a little bit of help from their friends on Pop Idol.

Sam and Mark were number 19 with The Sun has Come Your Way on 30th May.

Susanne voted out

In the show on 29th November Susanne sang Cry Me a River. All the judges predicted that she would be the one to be voted off that Saturday - and they were right.

Mark, Sam, Michelle and Chris were the final four Pop Idol contestants.

In a shock result in the penultimate Pop Idol show favourite Sam was voted off by the viewers.

In the show Sam sang Rod Stewart’s Maggie May and Jon Bon Jovi’s Always.

Roxanne voted out

Roxanne was evicted from the show on 22nd November 2003. During the show dedicated to Beatle songs she had sung Let It Be.

On 8th November Roxanne found herself in the bottom three for the first time - and could not contain her tears.

Michelle's second single flops

Michelle's second single, The Meaning Of Love, has flopped. It entered the UK singles chart at a disappointing number 16 on 11th April 2004.

Mark is runner-up in Pop Idol final

Mark was beaten in the Pop Idol final on 20th December 2003 by Michelle.

Mark said: "I could not have done any better with the songs. I think I did myself justice. I'm proud of myself."
