The UK makes its mind up on EurovisionDaz Sampson cleans upThe UK voted for Daz Sampson to compete in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest - and gave itself a real chance to win the competition this year. Daz's Teenage Life is a comedy rap featuring the middle-aged white rapper and a class of schoolgirls. The song could easily top the single charts even before the Eurovision Song Contest takes place. Teenage Life is written by Daz and John Matthews. The north of England, the Midlands, Wales, the south-west and web voters all awarded Daz 12 points putting him ahead of Antony Costa and his song, It's a Beautiful Thing. Mobile votes added another 37 points giving Daz a total of 121 points against Antony Costa's 96 points. Kate Ryan will be performing with an upbeat number for Belgium this year so the competition will be tough - but the UK should do well this year. The Eurovision Song Contest final takes place in Greece on 20th May. |
