Prince Charles opens cannabis gardenPrince Charles opened a garden on 22nd September that grows cannabis and coca plants. He also visited Alnwick Castle, which features in the Harry Potter movies on the same day. The brush with cannabis and coca was at the official opening of the second phase of The Alnwick Garden, in Alnwick, Northumberland, which grows cannabis and coca under lock and key. The UK interior ministry gives a license for the plants to be grown there. Earlier in the day Prince Charles was in ceremonial dress and took the salute of the Queen's Own Yeomanry, where he is an honorary colonel, during an hour-long visit to the grounds of Alnwick Castle. During the ceremony Charles presented medals to two soldiers from the regiment for their service in Iraq. |
