Hollyoaks - Hannah's Anorexia Torment

The Channel 4 soap is currently embroiled in a gripping storyline where Hannah Ashworth (played by actress Emma Rigby) is battling the eating disorder.

Having been dumped for another man by her now ex-boyfriend John-Paul McQueen, Hannah felt she wasn't good enough for any man to like her and ended up binge eating and them making herself vomit. The bulimia then turned to anorexia when Hannah started hiding her food.

Hannah was befriended by Melissa (played by actress Carla Chase) who glamorised the serious eating disorder and spoke about its benefits when trying to become a model. However, things went seriously wrong for Melissa who recently died with her friend at her bedside.

Hannah is now left to battle the eating disorder by herself and while she is still in denial and still hiding her food from her loved ones, it remains to be seen whether Hannah will help herself or end up losing her life to anorexia.
