Four the love of -! Breaking up and making up

News of the World (who, if memory serves me, is the tabloid which broke the news of the split in the first place) is reporting that Prince William and on-off (and off and on and off and on again) girlfriend Kate Middleton did indeed break up last month. News which caused both widespread surprised disappointment or knowing approval depending on what you thought of them as a couple. But now News of the World is saying that the break up only lasted 4 days before they got back together. A fact which was known only to those closest to them. Meanwhile the rest of the world went unknowing and allowing William and Kate some much needed respite from the lime light. Well, not really. But it did quell the engagement rumors for awhile.

Said a source, "William and Kate did have a fallout and they did break up, but they were back together within days. And even during the 'split', they talked on the phone. They also knew they would look a bit daft getting straight back together after such a public fallout.

"William and Kate realised it was a perfect opportunity to try to get rid of some of the pressure they were facing. The rumours about them getting engaged were getting stronger and stronger and they couldn't cope with it. It has been a cloak and dagger operation for them to see each other. It was quite fun for a while to meet in secret."

The two have been meeting in the homes of trusted friends and at private parties. But it was at a not so private Army party where William and Kate were spotted kissing and cuddling before heading off to William's room sparking news of a possible reconciliation (or maybe just a hook up).

Continues the source, "There is a group of about eight that Kate and William trust. They knew what was going on and kept it a secret and helped them plan their romance away from the public eye.

"William and Kate never intended to fool anybody or cause a stir. But that time out of the spotlight has been brilliant. Now people don't think they are about to walk down the aisle, they think they are just patching up their relationship."

Originally it was reported that the two were only good friends. And sometimes not so good friends. But this latest gossip should have the engagement rumor mill going full spin once again. Epically if Kate does indeed turn up to the Concert for Diana today.

"William adores her and she adores him. I don't think there will be any more splits," concluded the source.
