Rumours abound that Kate Middleton is set to work for American fashion designer Tom Ford. According to fashion bible website Style.com the rumour is 'hot', meaning it may have some truth to it or that the rumour itself is widespread and gaining momentum.
According to reports, Middleton would be a PR coup for any fashion house strangely not because of any talent she may or may not have, but because of the publicity her employment would bring to her employer.
Some would argue that this is the reason behind her current job with Jigsaw. More often than not, Kate is seen doing other things than work, causing many to think that her job was purely for publicity purposes. The Jigsaw gig has given Kate a front whilst waiting for a ring and Jigsaw valuable PR.
Style.com reports: "Kate Middleton might go to work for Tom Ford as some sort of in-house consultant or public-relations person.
"Since she likes fashion (she works as an accessories buyer for Jigsaw, the British clothing chain), the thinking is that some clever fashion house will score a big public-relations coup by hiring her.
"Has Helen Windsor already whispered the idea to her friend Giorgio Armani? Well, ready the smelling salts for Valentino if Giorgio gets her.
"And if, maybe as a favor or a kindness owed his ex, young William supports young Kate's new job by wearing one of her designer's suits or, even better, turning up at a fashion show, she will be worth her weight in publicity gold."
So once again Kate is tipped to be employed in a job where she has no experience nor any qualifications for. Pretty good for a girl who once declared she was 'not fussed by fashion'.
