Harry & Wills: Greenest royals

The Mirror has conducted a study on the royal family's "carbon footprints" to work out how much CO2 emissions they each release per year. It seems that the youngest members of the family, such as Harry and William, pollute the environment the least.

Prince Charles, who is perceived to be the most green of all the family, is one of the worst offenders, only managing a green rating of 4/10. The fact he travelled to such events as the Cheltenham Cup by helicopter and drove to over 300 public engagements in one of the many cars at his disposal, it's no wonder Charles is seen as a carbon abuser. It's bad considering the average household in the UK's carbon emissions is 26.3 tonnes per year.

Here how the British royal family stacks up to Joe Public, as estimated by The Mirror's Tom Latchem:

Prince Charles: Green rating - 4/10
Total CO2 Emission: 2,214 tonnes.

Princess Anne: Green rating - 6/10
Total CO2 Emissions: 754 tonnes.

Prince Andrew: Green rating - 3/10
Total CO2 Emissions: 369.45 tonnes.

Prince Edward: Green rating - 3/10
Total CO2 Emissions: 226 tonnes.

HM the Queen and Prince Philip: Green rating - 4/10
Total CO2 Emissions: 3,751 tonnes.

Prince William: Green rating - 7/10
Total CO2 Emissions: 3.5 tonnes.

Prince Harry: Green rating - 8/10
Total CO2 Emissions: Negligible.

(If Chelsy was included with Harry, due to her flying between South Africa and the UK his total would be 11 tonnes.)
