American Idol - Diana Ross to guest mentorThe new series of American Idol started in earnest last night in the US with a heavy scheduling of the auditioning process set to be screened. It is expected that the auditioning stage will be shown over several weeks with the finalists emerging and being screened in March. Every week on American Idol is usually a themed week. Often guest mentors appear to sing live from their new album on the show having mentored the finalists during the week on songs picked from the artist’s genre or collection. This year rumours have been awash with the possibility of the likes of Sir Paul McCartney appearing. However one confirmed mentor is 62 year old Diana Ross. She recently appeared on the CBS David Letterman’s “Late Show” and confirmed that she is going to mentor on American Idol during this new series and is planning a world tour in March to promote her new album, "I Love You." American Idol will be screened on ITV2 on Friday 19th January at 20..30 pm |
