TV series to be based on the Royal FamilyITV is set to release a television series called "The Palace" for broadcast next year. Although "The Palace" is meant to be fictional it will take inspiration from actual events surrounding the real Royal Family. According to ITV spokeswoman Holly Palin, the series will be, "purely fictional, but it will be hard not to be inspired by some things that are going on. It will have "a very 'West Wing' feel, with a touch of 'Dallas.' It will offer a little insight into how the world's most famous establishment hangs together." The American television series "West Wing" was based on the workings of the White House and was a huge Emmy winning success. The creators of "The Palace" are hoping it will draw as many viewers. The action will center around Buckingham Palace and follow the lives of a fictional royal family, headed by a King. In the meantime viewers can look forward to seeing the REAL deal. Cameras were given remarkable access to the Queen and other members of the Royal Family for the documentary "Monarchy" which will be aired on BBC1 later this year. |
