Paul Burrell mocks the QueenPaul Burrell has courted controversy again, this time mimicking Queen Elizabeth II at a party. The one time royal employee shocked fellow guests by pretending to be the Queen and talking in robotic like tones. One guest said “Mocking the Queen is disgusting, especially in front of a load of Yanks who believe all his rubbish. The Queen will be furious. She won’t like being made fun of at all." Burrell was attending a party in New York to launch his latest venture. He is about to release a collection of wines aptly named "Royal Butler, the Paul Burrell Collection". Mr Burrell told shocked party goers that the Queen had once "drank from a finger bowl during a Royal banquet". Apparently a visiting foreign royal guest had accidently drank from his bowl thinking it was tea, so the Queen, not wanting him to feel embarrassed, did so as well. Although not sensational in any way, his depiction of the Queen puzzled those there, with one saying “When he was ‘being the Queen’ he moved like someone doing Tai Chi.” |
