King and Queen of Sweden visit Turkey

King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden have began their five day official State Visit to Turkey.

This is the first ever official visit by the King of Sweden to Turkey, officials from both countries expect this visit to further enhance relations.

The King and Queen travelled to Turkey alongside a delegation from the Swedish business sector and a delegation with a special focus on health issues.

King Carl XVI and Queen Silvia are expected to visit the ancient city of Ephesus where the house of the Virgin Mary is located as well as the city of Izmir after they conclude with their official state engagement in Ankara. Istanbul will be their last stop before leaving for Sweden.
