There were now just four girls left at Eggleston Hall and this week they were to face their biggest challenge yet when for the first time in its history Eggleston hall would play host to royalty. The event was a Venetian masked ball in honour of their royal guest, an Italian prince. The usual set of eligible bachelors was also invited and some twenty of them would be staying the night and must be served breakfast the following morning.
In an effort to correct their appalling deportment the girls were issued with 'posture correction' harnesses but Sarah, who as time goes on seems to have become more and more uncomfortable with the strict regime of Eggleston Hall, refused to wear hers and went walkabout in the grounds, leaving the other three girls to see about preparing for the following morning's breakfast, a task which involved much hilarity with a sausage machine!
The waltz lesson proved that most of the girls had two left feet when it came to ballroom dancing but Kristyn really excelled, and after some intensive language coaching all of the girls were able to make a short welcoming speech in Italian.
On the night of the ball the prince proved a hit with the ladettes, and they with him, and all went well - until the teachers went to bed when predictably the evening descended into chaos. The following morning Mrs Shrager was on the warpath when she found Sarah, still drunk, under a bachelor's bed.
It was time for the last assessment day before graduation week and one of the four girls must be sent home. Kristyn had done well this week, she had faced her fears and overcome them, but was still somewhat lacking in personality. Skye had shown that she could take responsibility but then let herself down. She was inconsistent. Nicole had triumphed at the ball and charmed the prince, but at breakfast was rude and surly. Sarah had rebelled at everything and had let the other girls down by going AWOL. Sarah was expelled.
