Ladette to Lady - Series 4 - Week 1

For some reason this year's eight ladettes all come from Australia but they certainly appear to be a match for our own British ladettes. The chaos started even before their flight had touched down at Newcastle airport and police had to be called to escort them from the plane.

Principal Gill Harbord was waiting to greet them at Eggleston Hall along with vice-principal Rosemary Shrager and etiquette teacher Liz Brewer. Right from the start it appeared that Skye, who had been expelled from five schools, was going to be trouble.

The first task for the ladettes was to host a cocktail party for a group of eligible young bachelors, and they had only a few days to prepare, in which time they would attempt to learn deportment, elocution, etiquette and haute cuisine.

Anyone would think that Gill Harbord might have learnt by now that ladettes and alcohol don't mix, so no-one should have been surprised when the cocktail party quickly deteriorated into a drunken melee. Zoe, whose idea of a good night out was a two-day bender, immediately proceeded to get very drunk indeed. Sarah, described as a geezer-bird, was doing fine until she described one of the eligible bachelors as an 'inbred tosser'. Exotic dancer Nicole surprised herself by putting in an excellent performance as hostess, while Skye ran off in a tantrum because she couldn't cope with mixing and serving the cocktails.

Next morning was decision time and it had to be decided which one of the three worst offenders would be sent home. Boozy barmaid Maria was a wonderful actress but her sincerity was very much in doubt. Zoe, still hungover, had made a complete mockery of everything they had tried to teach her, while Skye's behaviour had been appalling. Gill Harbord announced that Eggleston Hall was not a school for the performing arts therefore Maria was asked to leave.
