Kate and William - on or off?

Have Kate Middleton and Prince William split again? In April 2007, The Sun reported that William and Kate decided to go separate ways after a rocky four year relationship that saw William through his years at St. Andrews. Since then, there has been much speculation over the status of their relationship; so much so, that many papers have dubbed Kate his "on-again, off-again girlfriend."

This Is Aberdeen recently ran an article chronicaling their tumultuous relationship over the past year. Their source states that Wills and Kate had reached an "amicable agreement" to end their relationship. Prince William and Kate Middleton had been under tremendous pressure by the media to marry, and this is cited as one cause of their most recent split. A few years ago, William remarked to Sun photographer Arther Edwards that he was "too young to marry" and would wait until he was closer to 30 before tying the knot. This statement has been largely ignored by the tabloids that have hailed Kate as "princess-in-waiting" time and again since the couple graduated from University.

Other reasons This is Aberdeen cited for the alleged split was William's roving eye, the lack of attention he paid Kate, and the Royal Family's disapproval of Kate's family background. William will have to decide for himself who he wants as his wife, and hopefully by the time he is 30, he'll know enough not to let outside pressures influence his decision. To recognize that one is too young for that kind of commitment shows that William is wiser then he's probably given credit for, but it looks like he still has some growing up to do.
