I'd Do Anything - Ta-ra to Tara - Andrew Lloyd Webber saves Keisha for a second week

Tonight Welsh girl Tara Bethan became the latest casualty of Cameron Mackintosh's search for a new Nancy for his forthcoming production of "Oliver!"

The girls had a fun mission this week, practising their acting skills in kissing Ben James-Ellis, former Joseph contender and now starring as Link Larkin in "Hairspray." Their acting abilities were mixed though and Ben declared, after having been kissed at least ten times, that Jodie, Tara and Keisha were his pick of the best actresses.

The group song this evening followed the "Hairspray" theme as the girls performed "Good Morning Baltimore," the opening song from the musical. I am not sure I was in tune with the judges at all in this aspect, as to me Sarah, Jodie and Samantha were outstanding in their acting abilities, whereas Niamh was praised for some reason - to me, she looked the most wooden of all during this number.

When it came to the results, the judges declared that Keisha and Tara were "not Nancy" for them and funnily enough those were the two in the sing-off. Although Tara appeared stronger in the sing-off, certainly with regard to her acting ability, Andrew Lloyd-Webber had obviously already made up his mind and saved Keisha for the second week running. Tara performed the usual goodbye song, "As Long As He Needs Me" and whilst her acting and accent were to be praised, her vocals still left something to be desired.

We are now down to nine Nancys for next Saturday's show - in the meantime, discuss the show more in the I'd Do Anything forum
