Cleopatra will not be Nancy as Andrew Lloyd Webber saves KeishaEleven Nancys were whittled down to ten tonight as Andrew Lloyd Webber chose to save Keisha over Cleopatra following the dreaded sing-off. Whilst Keisha appeared to give the weakest performance last night, she was definitely the stronger voice of the two in singing “I Know Him So Well,” and Cleo’s voice really did sound quite thin in comparison. The ‘Nancy Mission’ tonight involved having to go into a rat-infested sewer – something which really upset Rachel and Niamh in particular. This was then followed by our first proper glimpse of the girls’ acting – a stand-in Bill Sykes was provided and some of the girls – notably Rachel and Sarah – proved more skilled in this area than others – the younger ones finding it especially difficult. In comparison with ‘Maria’ and ‘Joseph’ it seems harder to pick a stand-out winner out of these girls – some, Samantha and Jessie for example, have fantastically strong vocals but fell down on the acting tonight, whilst others like Sarah, Rachel and Francesca are showing strengths in different areas. I wouldn’t like to put any money on anyone at the moment, the field really does seem to be wide open! The remaining Nancys will perform again next Saturday and meanwhile you can discuss the show in the I'd Do Anything forum |
