Dancing on Ice 2008 - Frost Between Early Favourites Gareth Gates and Maria Fillipov?

Apparently singer Gareth Gates is enjoying the ice skating and throwing himself into learning his new routines with gusto. Newly engaged Gareth is paired with Maria Filippov who won the first Australian Dancing on Ice competition. The pressure is on and the expectations are high.

However as reported in the Sun today, The relationship between Gareth and Maria maybe becoming decidely frosty with Maria getting tired of his frequent need to check his hair. Apparently it was 16 times in one session alone! In response Gareth has apparently called Maria “sad”.

Tensions are mounting that's for sure but is Gareth Gates a new ice Prince or is it all the pressure getting to them both?

Gareth’s routine for week two will apparently be a livelier upbeat routine. He was the bookies favourite before the show opened but will he continue to wow the judges and the voting public? He certainly has some keen competition with some other excellent pairings.
