Dancing on Ice 2008 Christopher Dean's urgent knee surgery will see Jayne Torvill skating soloChristopher Dean has apparently had knee surgery today (Tuesday), to repair a torn cartilage. So on Sunday’s live fourth show of Dancing on Ice, Jayne Torvill will be performing solo in the opening sequence, and Chris will be watching from the sidelines. Apparently it’s the first time she has performed on ice without her partner for thirty-five years. Chris won’t be able to perform for at least a week, possibly longer. However he has choreographed the routine and will be still appear in his mentoring role in Sunday's live show. Christopher said: "It'll be odd for me to see Jayne skate on her own." Jayne said: "I've skated with Chris since I was 15, and he's always there to give my hand a little squeeze before we start. I might feel lonely out on my own. "But Chris has choreographed my routine and I swear he's given me one that's harder than ever." This third series of the popular ITV show has seen its share of casualties. Michael Underwood recently broke his ankle, Linda Lusardi injured her ankle. Aggie McKenzie and Samantha have born torn hamstrings, and Suzanne has had a close shave with her partner’s ice skate on her scalp. Lets hope the surgery is successful for Chris and he makes a swift recovery. |
