Dancing on Ice 2008 - Gareth Gates Loses out in Sizzling Semi-final

Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean dazzled with their flair and skills whilst Leona Lewis sang her new single Sport Relief song 'Footprints In The Sand' She later sang 'Better In Time', the second track from the double A-side release. Both songs are taken from her record-breaking Spirit album and will be released on March 10.

The four celebrity skaters made solo entrances and a solo skate of 20 seconds each, before being joined on the ice by their professional ice skating partners.

It was a tightly fought contest with each skating pair upping their game and pulling out all the stops. The crowd loved the range of movements and positions, lifts and interpretations to very different music choices.

Chris Fountain and partner Frankie Poultney pulled off a fabulous energy charged and skill loaded routine earning them three 6.0’s and finished the night top of the leader board.

In the end the skate off between Gareth Gates and his partner Maria, and Zaraah Abrahams and her partner Fred whose routine surely deserved her place in the finals.

All eyes will now be on the three remaining celebrity skaters, Chris Fountain, Suzanne Shaw and Zaraah Abrahams to see who will be crowned Dancing on Ice 2008 champion. The final show will be on Sunday 16th March and all eyes will be on how each of them copes with the flying and their individual interpretations of Bolero.
