James Whitaker defends Kate's lack of work

Seasoned royal correspondent James Whitaker has appeared on ITV's This Morning show and defended Kate Middleton's lack of work.

The veteran journalist said that he felt there wasn't any need for Kate to work. He told hosts Fern Britton and Philip Schofield "Maybe she's just standing by to see what's going to happen in her relationship with William?" when asked about the current criticism of her lack of work.

Mario Testino, who most famously took breathtaking pictures of Diana, Princess of Wales, wants to be the one to take the official engagement photographs for Wills and Kate. Testino told the Daily Express newspaper "I would love to do that. Let's pray for that."
