Former London Mayoral candidate Brian Paddick’s greatest challenge so far in the jungle has been to pay a visit to the away camp, only to be met with a torrent of abuse by the ever-charming Robert Kilroy-Silk.
“What are you doing here, Brian? You’ve only come to gloat,” jeered Kilroy. Brian almost immediately scuttled back to the Camp Camp where he’s been living in relative comfort.
Now the two camps have joined together, I do wonder whether Kilroy is going to bully Brian– particularly as the openly gay former police officer has already confessed to being a bit of a softie, despite his previous role as a tough-talking spokesman for the Metropolitan Police.
“If there’s somebody there who’s having a really hard time… then I’m going to be the guy who puts their arm round them. And if they start crying then I’m likely to join in,” says Brian, and adds, “I’ve worked with lots of people, who I would have never chosen to be with, not quite 24 hours a day. But although it is for a relatively short time it can feel like eternity if someone is very, very irritating.”
Oh dear, I think Brian is going to be turning on the waterworks quite regularly before too long!
