With the mounting pressure for Prince William to marry Kate Middleton, comes increasing interest into the life of young woman who could one day be Queen.

It's fair to say that very little is known about Kate, except that she has been an important part of William's life for at least 4 years. However, it's only been during the past 3 years that her role as girlfriend to the future king has been firmly stamped by an ever adoring media. Most scribes wax lyrical about her stunning good looks and her discreet nature, but little is said about her personal role in life.

Royal photographer ready to snap Kate & William's engagement

As if the recent spate of engagement rumours for Prince William and Kate Middleton weren't enough, a seasoned royal photographer has now added more fuel to the fire.

Mario Testino, who most famously took breathtaking pictures of Diana, Princess of Wales, wants to be the one to take the official engagement photographs for Wills and Kate. Testino told the Daily Express newspaper "I would love to do that. Let's pray for that."

Prince of Wales unveils Bali memorial

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall have today unveiled a memorial to the victims of the Bali bombings in St James's Park, London.

Survivors of the attacks, friends and relatives of the 28 Britons killed and dignitaries from other nations affected attended the ceremony.

Spain’s Queen Sofia is awarded the Ceres Medal

In a ceremony held in Madrid, the UN’s Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) Director-General, Jacques Diouf said that Queen Sofia demonstrated “commitment to the most exploited people on the planet” and awarded her the Ceres Medal. This award is named after Ceres, the Roman goddess of agriculture and is awarded to distinguished women who have contributed to the fight against hunger.

Edward promotes youth projects in Africa

Yesterday Prince Edward, who is in Africa to promote the International Award for Young People, has praised Kenya's President Kibaki for his patronage of the President's Award, which, like the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, encourages young volunteers to better themselves though various outdoor pursuits. Prince Edward shares his father's passion for such programs and is the chairman of Duke of Edinburgh's Award International Council.

AOL voters name Kate as their choice for next "People's Princess"

In a week which saw Prince Harry’s girlfriend named the 2nd "Most Power Blonde" Kate Middleton received 98,287 votes in an AOL Internet survey naming her the "Next People’s Princess". 21,452 voters said they were "not sure" and 14,810 said they could not see her as the next People's Princess.

Paul Burrell mocks the Queen

Paul Burrell has courted controversy again, this time mimicking Queen Elizabeth II at a party.

The one time royal employee shocked fellow guests by pretending to be the Queen and talking in robotic like tones. One guest said “Mocking the Queen is disgusting, especially in front of a load of Yanks who believe all his rubbish. The Queen will be furious. She won’t like being made fun of at all."

Prince Harry shows Lesotho King his local

You'd think that a foreign monarch visiting the UK would be given a state banquet or even a luncheon of sorts. Not King Letsie III of Lesotho.

The King of the small African nation visited the UK in July and was instead shown around by Prince Harry.

Prince William to be a park ranger

Prince William is set become the new park ranger of Windsor Great Park.

The position has been held by William's grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, for over 54 years and he is expected to hand over the role that he so enjoys before his 90th birthday.

Chelsy Davy 2nd Most Powerful UK Blonde

Tatler magazine has released their Top 10 Most Powerful Blondes list.

Coming in at number 2, Chelsy Davy was seen as "the new face of royalty". Tatler said "At first merely a South African Sloane with Page Three looks, Chelsy soon proved she had two major assets - she looked good and partied hard. A whole new breed has emerged: Chelsy Girls. Girls Aloud on the outside, Debrett's on the inside."
