'First Lady of football' Karren Brady has been announced as Lord Sugar's new right-hand woman for the new series of 'The Apprentice', replacing Margaret Mountford who left the show after the last series to complete her PhD in papyrology which had been put on the back burner during her stint on 'The Apprentice'.
Ms Brady beat off strong competition from Ultimo's Michelle Mone and entrepreneur Martha Lane Fox among others. She says 'I am thrilled to be involved, having worked with Alan for 16 years. It’s great to extend our relationship to the programme.'
In August it was revealed that no action would be taken against Ms Brady and Birmingham City owner David Sullivan who were both arrested last year as part of an investigation into allegations of corruption in football, leaving the way clear for her to take on her new role alongside Nick Hewer as Lord Sugar's eyes and ears.
